About
Ánimo Caribe

Ánimo Caribe is a Caribbean-owned, licensed cannabis dispensary built on culture, community, and good energy. Our name comes from Ánimo—the word you say when you mean “Keep going,” “You’ve got this,” “Don’t give up”—paired with Caribe, honoring our island roots and the feeling of home.

Located in the heart of Flatbush’s Little Caribbean, our dispensary is designed to welcome you in and send you out feeling lighter, calmer, and more energized. From our ambience to the way we guide every guest, everything we do reflects our mission to Smile, Encourage, and Live.

We believe

Cannabis is more than a product.

it’s a moment.

A pause

A reset.

A way to move through life with more ease and clarity.

Here, you’re on
Caribbean time.

About the Founder Yadi Hidalgo

Yadi Hidalgo is the founder of Ánimo Caribe and brings deep Caribbean roots and lived community experience into everything he builds. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City from a young age, Yadi has been part of the Flatbush community for over 20 years.

Coming from Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage, Yadi grew up surrounded by small family-run businesses and strong neighborhood ties. His family has long been part of the area’s local business community, and he remains closely connected to the people and culture that shaped him.

Yadi’s path into cannabis

Was driven by curiosity, science, and a genuine interest in the plant’s potential. Over time, he developed a deep appreciation for its medical and restorative uses, which inspired him to learn more and approach cannabis with intention and responsibility.

Today, his mission is to bring education, access, and respect for the plant to his community while honoring where he comes from.

Through Ánimo Caribe, Yadi is focused on creating a space that reflects his roots, supports his neighborhood, and helps people make informed choices about cannabis.
